Saft LS14250-AX primary lithium cell, is based on the Lithium-Thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) chemistry. The LS14250-AX key features are the Axial PC leads.

The LS14250-AX cell is designed specifically for long-term (3 to 15 years) applications, featuring a few UA based currents and periodic pulses, typically in the 5-150 mA range.

AA Lithium Thionyl Chloride battery.

Lithium Thionyl Chloride has the highest energy density of any practical Lithium battery chemistry, three times greater than Alkaline (Zinc Manganese Dioxide) batteries. It also has the widest operating temperature range of -55°C to + 85°C. Self discharge is low at less than 1% per annum at 20°C, giving an effective shelf life of 10 years.
